Let pond length be L and width W = L/2. Surface area = L * (L/2) = L² / 2. The concrete strip adds 0.5m on all sides, so total dimensions are (L + 1) and (W + 1) = (L/2 + 1). Concrete area = Total area - Pond area. Analyzing how these areas vary with length gives graph 1 as the correct representation.
