सापेक्ष दारिद्र्य पुढील घटकावर अवलंबून असते. Relative poverty depends on following factors :
(a)मानवी शरीराला दररोज उष्मांकाची गरज आहे. / The human body needs calories every day.
(b)मूलभूत गरजा भागवण्यासाठी उत्पन्नाची गरज आहे. / Income is necessary to meet basic needs.
(c)दोन उत्पन्न गटाची तुलना करून अल्प उत्पन्न गट दारिद्र्यात येतो. / Comparing two income groups, the lower income group comes in poverty.
(d)आवश्यक गरजा भागवता न येण्यासारखी परिस्थिती म्हणजे दारिद्र्य होय. / Poverty is the condition of not being able to meet the basic needs.
