फळांच्या तीन करंड्यात आंबे, केळी, चिकू व पेर ही फळे भरलेली आहेत. आंबे व केळी या फळांची संख्या समान आहे. चिकू केळींच्या दुप्पट आहेत. पेरची संख्या चिकू व केळी मिळून होणाऱ्या संख्येच्या 3/4 इतकी आहे. तीन करंड्यात मिळून 1000 फळे आहेत तर त्यात पेर व चिकू यांची अनुक्रमे संख्या किती असेल ? Let bananas = x, mangoes = x, chikkus = 2x, pears = (3/4)*(2x + x) = 9/4 x. Total = x + x + 2x + (9/4)x = 1000, solving gives x=160. Pears = 360, Chikkus = 320.

एका क्रिकेट खेळाडूची चेंडू फेकण्याची सरासरी 24.85 धावा प्रति विकेट होती. एका मॅचमध्ये त्याने 52 धावा देऊन 5 विकेट घेतल्या. त्यानंतर त्याची चेंडू फेकण्याची सरासरी 0.85 एवढी कमी झाली तर अंतिम मॅच खेळण्यापूर्वी त्याने घेतलेल्या विकेटची संख्या किती होती ? The balling average of a cricket player was 24.85 runs per wicket. In a match he took 5 wickets, giving 52 runs. Then his balling average got reduced by 0.85. Then how many wickets had he taken, before playing the last match ?

Let previous wickets be n. Total runs before = 24.85n. New average = (24.85n + 52)/(n + 5) = 24.85 - 0.85 = 24. Solving this equation gives n = 80.

Let total relatives be x. Bowls equation: x/2 + x/3 + x/5 + x/6 = 108. Taking LCM (30), (15x + 10x + 6x + 5x)/30 = 108 => 36x/30 = 108 => x = 90.
