(b) The total number of persons who take only coffee and those who take only tea is twice the number of persons who take both coffee and tea.

By setting up algebraic equations for tea and coffee drinkers, we find that the total union of members is three times the number of single-preference members, and single-preference members equal twice the dual-preference members.
